I’m a Board Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) licensed in New York State and Virginia. I’ve been providing direct counseling services to children, adolescents, families, adults, and couples since earning my Master’s Degree from Fordham University in 2008. I have experience locally and nationally working with people who have experienced severe trauma, anxiety, depression, hectic or uncomfortable life transitions, as well as common everyday life stressors. I operate from a strength-based perspective using proven strategies in the context of a safe and supportive environment which allows for sharing and growth. My aim is to help you move through barriers so that you can achieve personal and professional goals, and live your best life. I feel honored to play even a small part in someone’s healing journey and I truly love the work that I do.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Brain Health
I have received specialized training in improving brain health. My ability to incorporate brain health coaching into therapy can help to reduce stress and anxiety, increase productivity, enhance decision making, and strengthen how your brain works at every age. It allows people to more quickly move towards a growth mindset to achieve their goals while optimizing performance. Not only can people make their brains function better, but by doing so, they can also have a positive impact on their physical systems to include cardiovascular health, gastrointestinal health, endocrine health, an improved immune system and so much more.
Military Expertise
Much of my recent career has been spent working as the New York Army National Guard’s Senior Behavioral Health Provider where I developed a premiere Behavioral Health System of Care. In this role, I provided accessible clinical and educational services to a force of 10,000+ geographically dispersed Service Members and their families. In collaboration with the Institute for Disaster Mental Health at the State University of New York at New Paltz; the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University; and the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP), I also implemented the STAR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDERS (SBHP) program. SBHP is a registry that helps service members and those who care about them locate civilian behavioral health professionals with special training to understand and deal with military challenges such as the deployment cycle, combat injuries, reintegration, military ethos, and command climate.
In my private practice, I get to continue to work with Service Members and their families, as well as veterans, law enforcement personnel and first responders. Personally and professionally, my goal is to continue to serve those who serve our country.
